A. The main criteria for admission to the school is whether the educational programme is best suited to the needs of the child seeking admission.

 

Students who are admitted to the school are expected to:

• Show an interest in learning.

• Have a positive attitude to school generally.

• Show a willingness to improve and explore their skills.

• Become involved in the teaching/learning process.

• Take responsibility for doing, completing and submitting their assignments in a timely manner.

• Accept guidance

• Demonstrate good manners.

• Listen to teachers and obey instructions.

 

B. Admission to the school at the age of 11 is by transfer or direct application from an appropriate primary (elementary) school. All students entering Year 1 should be aged 11 by 30th August of the year of entry. Students one year younger or older may be considered after appropriate assessment and interview. Only in exceptional circumstances will a child be accepted who is older than that stated above.

 

C. Admission to other year levels from other secondary schools will only be considered if the child is of the appropriate age for the year and has approved academic record.

 

All students upon applying MUST submit the last two academic reports from their current school and a recent medical and vaccination record. If wishing to attend from outside the BVI, the child's parents or legal guardian must have right of residence in the BVI.
